The Yucca Elephantipes is part of the Yucca family. This houseplant is native to Latin America, where yuccas grow very large in the wild. The Yucca can withstand sunlight well. Be careful with direct sunlight in the beginning and let the plant get used to it slowly. The Yucca Elephantipes needs at least 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. This houseplant is used to a dry climate and can therefore do without water. In warmer periods the Yucca needs more water, but in winter this plant can go 4 to 6 weeks without water.
