Watering tips for your orchid:
Water your orchid once a week by completely submerging the orchid and its plastic growing pot in water. Be sure to drain the orchid thoroughly before placing it back in its pot, otherwise too much water will remain in the pot, causing the roots to rot. Before you start watering the orchid always look at the roots. They will tell you if they are thirsty or if they have enough water. Are the roots light grey? Then water quickly, because they are dry. Are the roots dark green? Then they have enough water. There is no need to water any more.

The best way to care for an orchid is to treat it to an orchid food supplement once every two months. This will keep your orchid looking beautiful for longer, because it receives extra nutrients.

Orchids like a bright spot with room temperatures between 17 and 22 degrees.
Be careful with the following points:
- Make sure your orchid does not stand close to a stove or heater, as the air is too dry for the orchid.
- Place your orchid in a light spot, but beware of direct sunlight. This may harm the leaves and flowers.
- Never place an orchid next to a fruit bowl. Many types of fruit give off a natural substance called ethylene. This substance can speed up the orchid's ageing process.
