The Calycanthus, or sweetshrub, is a strong shrub with beautiful flowers. They are not only exceptionally beautiful in shape, but they also have a wonderfully spicy fragrance. Flowers in May and June, often with a second flowering in August. This plant, also known as Sinocalycanthus, has large leaves that turn golden yellow in the autumn. The plant grows to approx. 150 cm in height. Pruning is not necessary, but if desired, do so directly after flowering. This shrub has no specific soil requirements but it does prefer a half day of sunshine or more.
