Miscanthus sinensis "Gracillimus" is one of the most widely cultivated species of Miscanthus. This Deciduous reed has a bushy, upright form with very narrow linear mid-green leaves with a white centre stripe, which turn straw-coloured in autumn. Miscanthus sinensis "Gracillimus" flowers (sporadically) from August to October with copper-coloured flower spikes, which turn silver-white later in the season when the seed ripens. This beautiful reed prefers a sunny spot and a well-drained, slightly moist, moderately fertile soil. Miscanthus sinensis "Gracillimus" is Hardy and once established also drought tolerant. He tolerates air pollution and sea wind.
