'Vitis Johanniter' is a white grape that is less sensitive to fungal diseases. It is a crossing of the Riesling with resistant grape varieties. From this grape one can make Riesling-like wine, full of fruit and muscatel. It is a climbing plant that can grow several metres high. You can lead it into all kinds of shapes and keep it very compact by pruning it well. You can easily lead the grape along a pergola or on a wall with tension wires. The grape first produces inconspicuous clusters of flowers in July-August, after which the white bunches of grapes will form. The fruits are white-green in colour, juicy with a sweet taste. You can eat them directly or use them to make jam, juice or wine.
